FMEA and its Component Organizations present 23 different All-State Ensembles that rehearse and perform as part of the annual FMEA Professional Development Conference.  

FMEA is composed of several component and affiliate organizations focusing on their unique specilizations within the field of music education. 

The Florida Music Education Association Crossover Festivals are designed to encourage musical creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration by students in K-12 schools.

The Florida Music Education Association Digital Music Showcase is designed to encourage musical creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration by students in K-12 schools.

The FMEA Emerging Leaders Program Vision is to provide a launching point for committed, connected, and collaborative leaders of tomorrow. 

Teaching Students with Disabilities in the Fine Arts

FMEA offers an All-State Guitar Ensemble and a Guitar Ensemble Festival

Helping to connect music teachers with schools and school districts.

FMEA publishes a peer-reviewed research journal, holds a poster session during the annual conference, and reviews requests for distributing research surveys to members. 

FMEA awards scholarships to graduating high school students who were accepted to an All-State ensemble and plan to major in music education at a Florida college or university. 

Recognizing outstanding accomplishments of young music educators

The FMEA Steel Band Festival promotes the performance on steel pan through a positive performance outlet with feedback from knowledgeable clinicians.  

The FMEA Student Development Committee is planning a series of virtual sessions for high school students considering pursuing music in college.

A think-tank of well-respected music educators convening to develop strategies for addressing the music teacher shortage in Florida
